Speeds web browsing by decreasing the MTU size. [Archiver's note: I was under the impression that, like in most OSes (Win9x aside), OS/2's various TCP/IP negotiation programs, including ppp.exe which this would most likely affect, allowed the user to change the MTU size as he or she sees fit. I know that ppp.exe takes mtu as a commandline parameter, at least, though the comment in the .cmd file indicates otherwise. In the meantime, to answer the question posed in the text of the .cmd file, the MTU specifies the largest sized packet which the dialup server will send your machine at a time. A smaller MTU doesn't increase the amount of bandwidth available (it actually decreases it slightly), it only decreases the average latency which applies to multiple open TCP connections and so web browsing *seems* to go faster, since files can be downloaded more in parallel. It's akin to how in most cases multitasking operating systems don't really run multiple programs simultaneously, it only switches between several running programs really quickly to give the effect.
